Using Supply-Chain-OS with Claude

Last updated 1 October 2026

Supply-Chain-OS, from Supply Chain Co., connects Claude to your company’s supply chain operating system: your BOM cost reviews, part status, action plans, PO follow-up and ERP data, plus our supplier database and the public trade, tariff and market data we track. Ask questions in plain English, and have Claude make changes for you when you say so.

Who can use it

Anyone whose company uses Supply-Chain-OS (the Supply Chain Co. portal). You sign in with your work email, and Claude sees exactly what you see in the portal, nothing more. People at the same company share its workspace: once your company’s email domain is confirmed, anyone signing in with an address at that domain joins it.

Not a customer yet? Connect with your work Google account anyway. Claude can search our supplier database, supplier dossiers and the public trade, tariff and market data straight away (up to 200 questions a day). Upload a BOM on our home page to add your own parts, orders and ERP.

How to connect

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and find Supply-Chain-OS. If it isn’t listed yet, choose Add custom connector and paste https://portal.thesupplychaincompany.ai/api/mcp. (On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it for the organization first.)
  2. Click Connect and choose Continue with Google, signing in with your company Google account. (Sign-in for companies on Microsoft 365 and other email providers is coming soon.)
  3. Check what Claude will be able to read and change, then click Allow.

The connection lasts 30 days, then Claude asks you to sign in again. If you belong to more than one company’s workspace, name the company in your question (“for Contoso…”).

Your company’s data (customers)

  • List companies: The companies your connection reaches, so Claude knows which one you mean.
  • BOM overview: Your BOMs and their cost reviews: savings found, supply risks, annual volume.
  • Part status: Every part number with stock, lead time, price and lifecycle, flagged critical or warning.
  • Action plan: A BOM's cost-reduction and supply-risk tasks, with status, owner and due date.
  • PO follow-up: Late and unconfirmed purchase orders, supplier emails that disagree with the record, and chase messages waiting for approval.
  • ERP: Your ERP's suppliers, products, purchase orders, shipments, inventory and issues, when your company has connected its ERP.
  • Input prices: Public commodity and producer price indexes (metals, energy, semiconductors, plastics).
  • Products: Your products in BOMs: each one's current revision and run, its open draft, its boards and assemblies, and how many lines are short, end of life, without a supplier or failing their spec check.
  • A product's BOM: Its boards, assemblies and lines: part numbers, makers, specs read from the part number, sizes, quantities, the BOM's notes and each line's problems. One line in full: specs, footprint, DigiKey and Mouser stock and price for your build, alternates, files and history.
  • Changes, problems and parts to watch: What changed on a product this week, every live problem by board, the parts most worth worrying about and why, and what differs between two revisions.
  • Product files: Drawings, 3D models, datasheets, specs and Gerber sets by product, board or line, with revision, run and who added them; small text files read inline and Gerber sets summarized.

Open to everyone who connects

  • Supplier database: Search our database of contract manufacturers and aerospace suppliers by name, country, capability or the brands they build for, with full profiles.
  • Supplier dossier: Everything on one supplier: news, screening against US restricted-party, sanctions and forced-labour lists, SEC filings and financial health, court cases, environmental compliance, federal contracts and weather alerts at its sites.
  • Your suppliers: For customers: the suppliers on your BOMs, quotes and ERP, each with its dossier.
  • Tariffs and duty: US duty by tariff code, UK and Canadian duty, US customs rulings and new tariff notices.
  • Trade flows: Which countries ship common electronic parts to the US and the world, the EU's sources, and the import reliance of the minerals in them.
  • Market feeds: Exchange rates, factory holidays in manufacturing countries, current disasters, and manufacturing labour costs by country.

What Claude can change

Claude asks you before each of these, every time.

  • Update an action-plan task: Change a task's status, priority, owner or due date.
  • Resolve a PO exception: Pick one of the two answers the portal offers for a supplier email that disagrees with the purchase order, or reopen one.
  • Approve or skip a supplier chase: Approve a drafted follow-up by email, text or call script, or skip it. Approving queues the message to your supplier, exactly like the portal's Approve button.
  • Dismiss or restore a BOM problem: Mark a line's problem as not a concern (with a reason), or bring it back, as the BOMs page's Dismiss does.
  • Propose BOM changes: Change quantities, swap a part, remove or move a line, or edit a line's note, in the product's draft only. Nothing is released: you review and release the draft in the portal.

Claude can’t delete anything, upload files, see other companies’ data or change who has access.

Things to try

  • “Which parts on our BOMs are obsolete, last-time-buy or over 20 weeks' lead time?”
  • “Summarize our late purchase orders by supplier and tell me who to chase first.”
  • “Show the action plan for our main board, then mark the connector swap as in progress, owned by Dana, due November 15.”
  • “Copper and semiconductor prices: which way are they heading, and which of our parts are most exposed?”
  • “The supplier email about the resistor price increase: resolve it by accepting the new price.”
  • “Find contract manufacturers in Mexico that build for medical device brands, and check the top two for sanctions or legal issues.”
  • “What's the US duty on connectors under 8536.69, and have there been any new tariff notices about them?”
  • “Summarize the problems on our HK-4200 and tell me which board has the most.”
  • “What changed on the HK-4200 this week, and what's in the open draft compared with rev C?”
  • “Which part on the HK-4200 main board should I worry about most, and what does DigiKey and Mouser stock look like for it?”
  • “On the HK-4200, change C12 to 2 per board and swap U2 for a part with more stock, as draft changes for me to review.”

Your data

  • Every request is checked against your access at that moment. If you leave a company, or it stops using the portal, Claude loses access to it right away.
  • We receive only what Claude sends to the connector: which tool it used and the inputs for it (for example a part number or a company name). We don’t receive or keep your Claude conversations.
  • Each change Claude makes is recorded in the portal’s history under your name, as if you’d clicked the button.
  • Text from ERP records, supplier emails, BOM notes and descriptions, and file names and contents is passed to Claude marked as data, not instructions.
  • Our full privacy policy covers what we collect and how long we keep it.

Disconnecting

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and click Disconnect next to Supply-Chain-OS. The connection ends straight away. You can also ask us to end it.

Troubleshooting

  • “You don’t have a company workspace to connect yet”: your email domain isn’t confirmed for a company workspace yet. Upload a BOM on our home page, or ask us to confirm your company’s domain.
  • Your company’s email isn’t on Google: sign-in for Microsoft 365 and other providers is coming soon. Email us and we’ll tell you when it’s ready.
  • Claude says to name a company: you belong to more than one. Say which, or ask Claude to list your companies.
  • “Only members of the company’s shared workspace can change its PO follow-up”: you can see your own uploads but not your company’s shared workspace. Sign in with your work email at your company’s domain.
  • The connector stopped working: connections last 30 days. Disconnect and connect again.
