Sample supplier reports

Each one started as a single sentence from a buyer. The report found the suppliers that fit, ranked them, and wrote out what to ask in the RFQ.

• Box build and system integration suppliers, US

  Send the RFQ to PEKO, Foxtronics, Astro and Sierra; 13 questions to settle first. Second-source Foxtronics EMS: ISO 9001:2015 confirmed, box build in Jacksonville. Neither PEKO nor Foxtronics shows IPC/WHMA-A-620 on the pages read. LeeMAH is closing its Brisbane headquarters and laying off 212.

• Injection-molded parts suppliers in Ohio

  Send the RFQ to The, Ferriot, DEIMLING/jeliho and Venture; 10 questions to settle first. Lead with The Minco Group, nearly 80 ASPM presses in Ohio; second-source Ferriot in Akron, whose ISO 9001:2015 certificate runs to 2029.

• Robotics motor and gearbox suppliers, United States

  Send the RFQ to Harmonic, maxon (U.S. operations) and ElectroCraft; 12 questions to settle first. Lead with Harmonic Drive, robot gearing made in Massachusetts; second-source maxon, which mounts gearheads on motors in Taunton; ElectroCraft as US fallback.

• Forging suppliers for heavy equipment parts, USA

  Send the RFQ to Walker, Cornell and Trenton; 14 questions to settle first. Lead with Walker Forge, second-source Cornell Forge: both forge construction and mining parts in the Midwest; Walker runs 13 press lines to 4,000 tons.

• ISO 13485 medical device contract manufacturers, Costa Rica

  Send the RFQ to all four; 10 questions to settle first. Viant and Biomerics say their Costa Rica sites hold ISO 13485, but no certificate was found. Intricon’s certificate lists only Minnesota sites.

• Automotive precision machining suppliers, Michigan

  Send the RFQ to Kenona, C. Thorrez Industries and Systrand; 13 questions to settle first. Lead with Kenona Industries; second-source C. Thorrez Industries. Kenona’s IATF 16949 certificate runs to 2028 and covers CNC machining in Grand Rapids.

• PCB assembly and box build suppliers, India

  Send the RFQ to Kaynes Technology India, Vasantha, Argus and Cubix; 13 questions to settle first. Lead with Kaynes Technology: 600 million SMT placements a year across 8 plants; second-source Vasantha Advanced Systems, 3 plants, ISO 9001:2015 confirmed.

• US e-mobility battery pack suppliers

  Send the RFQ to American Battery Solutions, Inventus, Re:Build and Navitas; 12 questions to settle first. Lead with American Battery Solutions, second-source Inventus Power: ABS builds up to 50,000 packs a year in Ohio; Inventus has UL2271-certified packs.

• Texas sheet metal enclosure suppliers

  Send the RFQ to all four; 17 questions to settle first. Second-source Nema Enclosures: UL508A listed, built in Houston.

• Cable and wire harness suppliers, Mexico

  Send the RFQ to Federal, Unlimited and Sierra; 10 questions to settle first. Lead with Federal Electronics, second-source Unlimited Services - Mexico: Federal’s Hermosillo plant lists IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and an AS9100 certificate valid to 2028.

• US support for body-in-white welding robots

  Send the RFQ to FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa and Lincoln Electric Automation; 12 questions to settle first. FANUC provides sales, service, support and training across the US from Rochester Hills, with 24/7 service. ABB has agreed to sell its robotics business to SoftBank, with closing expected in the second half of 2026. Get written US service terms first.

• Humanoid robot actuators, North America

  Send the RFQ to Resolved, Harmonic and Lin; 12 questions to settle first. Second-source Harmonic Drive LLC, whose ISO 9001 Massachusetts plant offsets Resolved Motion’s missing certificate. No ISO 9001 certificate was found for Resolved Motion or US Actuator. Harmonic Drive’s Beverly plant is ISO 9001 and AS9100 registered.

• Consumer electronics injection molding suppliers, Vietnam

  Send the RFQ to all four; 13 questions to settle first.

• Aluminum die casting suppliers, Mexico

  Send the RFQ to all four; 15 questions to settle first. Lead with Platinadora Baja (5 automated 400–700 t presses, Tijuana); second-source Centracore, which lists a Mexico IATF 16949 certificate Platinadora’s site lacks.

• AS9100 CNC aerospace machining suppliers, United States

  Send the RFQ to Intrex, Winslow, NE-XT and Swiss-Tech; 12 questions to settle first. Intrex’s AS9100D certificate runs to 2029 and covers aerospace, space and defense components. Parts made in the US carry 0% duty, against 12.5% from China. 56% of companies struggle to hire skilled manufacturing workers.

• IATF 16949 metal stampers near Shanghai

  Send the RFQ to Hehua, Golden, Maorui and Huashichang; 10 questions to settle first. Both stamp in Kunshan with IATF 16949; Hehua runs 8–200 t presses for Ford, Benz, Audi. Hehua and Maorui gave no IATF registrar, certificate number or expiry. Get certificate copies before quoting.

• Low-volume PCB assembly suppliers, USA

  Send the RFQ to Titan, Foxtronics and National Circuit Assembly; 15 questions to settle first. A second website confirms Titan’s ISO 9001:2015 and IPC-A-610G. JAVAD EMS waits on current certificates. JAVAD EMS’s posted ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certificate shows an April 2024 expiry. Get current certificates before any award.

• Electronics assembly contract manufacturers, Mexico

  Send the RFQ to all four; 12 questions to settle first.

  Send the RFQ to FANUC, KUKA and Yaskawa. FANUC leads with 29 of 32 points and top marks on all three asks: US support, body-shop record and capacity.

• Metal stamping suppliers near Shanghai: the IATF 16949 gap

  Send the RFQ to Hehua, Shanghai Widetop and Supro Manufacturing, with 11 questions to settle first. Hehua (Kunshan) is the only one claiming both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 near Shanghai.

• Actuators for humanoid robots, made in North America, at 100,000 a year

  Send the RFQ to Cone Drive, Kollmorgen and Allient, with 5 questions to settle first. None has proven 100,000 units a year, so quote capacity first.
